Together for Prevention: A Game-Changing Handbook and Creative Communications Tools to Prevent VAWG
Advancing gender equality and ending violence against women and girls takes more than a single solution — it takes a strategy that works across systems, stories, and society. We take a holistic approach that combines research, education, advocacy, and communication to turn evidence into action – shaping policy, shifting narratives, and driving lasting change.
We provide services to organisations, leaders, and teams looking to drive positive change. Whether that’s through workplace equality initiatives and training, research and evidence-building projects, strategic or creative campaigns, or policy and advocacy work, we’re here to help.
Violence against women and girls and gender inequality are two of the most widespread issues of our time and impact us all. These issues are complex – so our response is comprehensive. We provide strategic advice and holistic solutions to address these issues, working across research, advocacy, training, education, and communication to help make change stick.

How?
Push Play On Positive Social Change
EQI Learning brings transformative education to life – empowering individuals, leaders, and organisations to build a future where everyone belongs.
Our work spans across interconnected areas of research, evaluation, policy, advocacy, workplace equality training and creative communications. Our integrated approach helps ensure that knowledge doesn’t just stay in reports, but reaches the people and places where it can make the most impact.
At EQI, we contribute to building a strong evidence-base for preventing violence against women and girls globally, including in Australia and the Asia-Pacific. We draw on diverse, ethical, and participatory methods—practice-based learning, feminist approaches, mixed methods research, and monitoring and evaluation—to generate meaningful knowledge.
We aim to support a robust, ever-growing evidence-base that fills research gaps and addresses key priorities. This includes collaborating with partners in the Global South and with Indigenous communities and organisations across Australia, sharing power and advancing decolonised, inclusive research practices.
Through strategic engagement, thought leadership, and advocacy, EQI helps shape funding, policy, and practice on preventing violence against women and girls, both in Australia and internationally. We provide advice on policy reform, National Action Plans, monitoring frameworks, and whole-of-government approaches to prevention.
We work with partners to advocate for greater investment in evidence-based, feminist-informed programming and play a convening role across sectors and social movements. By establishing regional and global advocacy agendas, we support mechanisms that accelerate investment, drive adoption of coordinated prevention strategies, and ensure that evidence reaches the policymakers and donors who can help turn it into effective action worldwide.
At EQI, we use strategic communications to make sure evidence reaches the right people – and create campaigns that educate and inspire.
Bringing together expertise in gender, intersectional feminism, storytelling, and design, we produce bold multimedia content and media-based interventions that change hearts and minds, increase research uptake, and advocate for prevention.
From stories, film, and shareable memes to illustrations, infographics, e-learning tools, and immersive experiences – we translate information into creative, accessible content that sparks global feminist conversations and ignites social change to end violence against women and girls.
EQI provides holistic support and education to help organisations and individuals become leaders for social change. We offer strategic advice and technical support across gender equality, VAWG prevention, and Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB).
Our training and support helps organisations build inclusive cultures, meet legal and ethical obligations, strengthen staff engagement and drive productivity, innovation and impact. We focus on practical, meaningful approaches—addressing psychosocial hazards and fostering respect and belonging, not just ticking boxes.
We also provide services to embed inclusion across organisations, including policy and systems reviews, strategy development, leadership support, diagnostic assessments, gender impact assessments, and measurement—supporting workplaces where everyone feels valued and supported.

Equality Institute was founded in Naarm (Melbourne, Australia) on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country. We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of this land and waterways, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, as well as their elders, past and present. We extend this respect to all Indigenous peoples of this continent and its adjacent lands, recognising their cultures as the oldest continuous living cultures in human history.
