Piecing Together the Evidence on Social Norms and Violence Against Women Evidence Review

Piecing Together the Evidence on Social Norms and Violence Against Women provides a comprehensive overview of the current evidence on the drivers of violence against women and girls, with a focus on the role of social norms. The booklet highlights strategies that have been effective in preventing violence and in transforming harmful, violence-supportive norms.

Drawing on a strong feminist approach, it emphasises that while there is growing evidence, there is still much to learn. By sharing these insights, the booklet aims to inspire discussion and innovation in the prevention of violence against women and girls.

Equality Institute was founded in Naarm (Melbourne, Australia) on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country. We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of this land and waterways, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, as well as their elders, past and present. We extend this respect to all Indigenous peoples of this continent and its adjacent lands, recognising their cultures as the oldest continuous living cultures in human history.
